Who is Film Las Cruces?

Film Las Cruces is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to support and expand the film and media industry in Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. We employ 2 full time and 2 part-time staff that actively promote the region through outreach to the film/media industry and through our social media and website.

While we are going through a tremendously challenging time locally and globally with the COVID 19 virus, we will come through this and want to make sure we are building a strong future creating good jobs within New Mexico’s $4B film industry. Our funded partnerships with the City of Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, DACC, NMSU, IATSE Local 480 and community donations have positioned us to become a robust film production center.

The Rural Film Credit

Film Las Cruces began working on the rural incentive proposal in 2018 and continued to work through the 2019 legislative session to gain the support of lawmakers and other film offices around the state. This effort led to a 5% increase to the New Mexico Film Rebate Program for productions that take place outside of Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Film Las Cruces Studios

This studio, our staff, and the partnerships we are working with will help grow the film industry in Las Cruces. Film Las Cruces Studios continues to stay ready to provide a large studio environment that supports local filmmakers and welcomes national and international productions to Southern New Mexico.

The Las Cruces Film Office

The Director of the Las Cruces Film Office, Don Gray, has been a fixture in the New Mexico film industry for nearly twenty years and is considered one of the most knowledgeable and experienced film professionals in the state. Gray leads an experienced team at Film Las Cruces including Film Liaison Jon Foley, Operations Coordinator Chris Sheppard, and Studio Coordinator Guillermo Portillo.
